Welcome to the Bridgend & District Air Rifle League website!
The inaugural meeting of the Bridgend & District Air Rifle League took place at Merthyrmawr (Bridgend) in September 1907 and with two forced breaks for the world wars is still thriving today.
The Glamorgan Gazette reports miniature rifle and air rifle matches taking place in the Bridgend area as far back as 1902.
The Bridgend & District Air Rifle League meet on Monday & Thursday nights throughout the winter months. The League starts on the first Monday/Thursday in September and finishes around the end of April.
The rifles used are match rifles of .177 calibre, completely recoilless and most of which are of German origin. Tuition is given to all new members, taking into account the League safety rules.
